Use Wikipedia...without just "COPYING-PASTING"!

When you have to do some research so as to write an article...you can and you should use wikipedia BUT...avoid just copying and pasting the wikipedia text!!! It is not your work and you should not present it as yours! Save yourself the embarassment of not knowing what you have written/copied!!!

What follows is an example of how you can tackle an article about a famous British. You should not just copy-paste the text!Write only about what is important!Use the highlighted information and my suggested expressions and (re)write an article about Sir Alfred Hitchcock!

The United Kingdom, Great Britain and the Union Jack

What is Great Britain?

Great Britain is the official name given to the two kingdoms of England and Scotland, and the principality of Wales.

Great Britain is made up of:
  • England - The capital is London.
  • Scotland - The capital is Edinburgh .
  • Wales - The capital is Cardiff.
The United Kingdom is made up of:

A flag containing three other flags.

The origins of the flag date back to 1603, when James VI of Scotland inherited the English and Irish thrones, thereby uniting the crowns of England, Scotland and Ireland.

The current design dates from the Union of Great Britain and Ireland in 1801. The flag combines aspects of three national flags: the red cross of Saint George, the red saltire of Saint Patrick's Flag, and the Flag of Scotland.

Why doesn't the Welsh dragon appear on the Union Flag?

The Welsh dragon does not appear on the flag because when the first Union Flag was created in 1606, Wales was already united with England from the 13th century.
